My literary agent, Sheree Bykofsky, tells her writers to expect the worst when it comes to cover design. This is an area beyond the author's control, and it's fraught with horror stories. So imagine my surprise when Contemporary Books showed me a book jacket that perfectly reflected my design sensibilities.
The credit goes to Monica Baziuk for the overall cover design and Dan Krovatin for the illustration of the Victorian-looking woman who does indeed appear to be "lapsing." Open the book and you'll see the handiwork of Jeanette Wojtyla, who also did an excellent job.
